Facebook to Oculus: I do

Facebook tied the knot today with Oculus VR. The social media giant paid a whopping $2 billion to acquire the virtual reality start up.

Facebook welcomes Oculus to their ever growing portfolio of companies which includes WhatsApp, Instagram, and LightBox to name a few.

“Mobile is the platform of today, and now we’re also getting ready for the platforms of tomorrow, Oculus has the chance to create the most social platform ever, and change the way we work, play and communication,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said.

Oculus is expected to remain in their headquarters in Irving, CA and continue development of their Oculus Rift headset. This deal is expected to be completed by the end of Q4.
